Israeli strike on a north Gaza police station kills eight
An Israeli drone strike hit a police station in the al-Faluja area of the western Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing at least eight people, according to Gaza’s interior ministry. The dead included six police personnel, the station’s director and a civilian; a female officer was among those killed. The ministry condemned the attack as a “horrific massacre against officers and members of the police force.” Separately, a 10-year-old was killed by Israeli fire in Khan Younis, bringing the day’s reported toll to 11.
The strike is part of a pattern of Israeli attacks that have continued despite the ceasefire reached in October 2025. Gaza’s health ministry says more than 1,110 people have been killed since that truce took effect. The targeting of the police force is a recurring flashpoint: Israel treats Hamas-run security bodies as combatants, while Gaza authorities say policing the territory — including aid distribution and public order — cannot function if officers are struck. The continued strikes underscore how fragile the truce remains even as it nominally holds.
