The address’s central theme was ideological: Trump warned of “a resurgence of the communist menace,” called communism “the enemy of the Constitution,” and described democratic socialism as the country’s gravest threat.
He connected that framing to immigration, suggesting left-wing figures and undocumented immigrants should be removed from the country. The speech contained no substantive new policy proposals.
