Trump threatened on June 26 to impose a 100 percent tariff on goods from any country that levies a digital services tax on US technology companies. Trump framed them as discriminatory against American companies. He said the tariff threat would supersede existing trade agreements, raising it even as his administration presses the EU on a separate set of tariff negotiations with a July 4 deadline.
